Job summary

Accso is seeking a seasoned software engineer to join our team in Cape Town. You will design, develop and implement robust software solutions across diverse client projects, applying AI-native development methods and building backend services, REST APIs, and integration layers.

You will work with Java, JavaScript, Spring, Kotlin, Maven, Gradle, JUnit, and commit to quality through code reviews, performance tuning and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• You have a university degree in computer science or a comparable discipline.
• You have at least 5 years of professional software development experience with the listed technologies.
• You enjoy working with agile methods such as Scrum or Design Thinking.
• You are proactive, pragmatic and team-oriented, with strong collaboration and communication skills and a drive for continual improvement.

Responsibilities

• You design, develop and implement robust software solutions for diverse client projects.
• You build backend services, REST APIs, and integration layers using OO design patterns.
• You contribute to code reviews, performance tuning and CI/CD practices to raise engineering standards.
• You write well-designed, testable, efficient, readable code that meets internal and customer standards.
