Job summary

ATS Client, a leading financial services and capital markets organisation in Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, build, and support high‑performance systems that drive critical business operations.

You will translate business requirements into scalable Java solutions, work with Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Data, and collaborate on AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines in an enterprise microservices environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 5-7 years experience in enterprise software development.
• Strong proficiency in Java (8+), Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Data.
• Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, and SAS programming.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and software design patterns.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and Agile delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support business‑critical applications aligned to IT and business strategy

• Produce technical documentation to support system maintenance and knowledge transfer
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery of solutions
