Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager specializing in IT security to lead critical security initiatives in Randburg. You will drive projects that protect information assets, ensuring compliance with GDPR/POPIA and industry standards.

The role requires overseeing planning, execution, and delivery of security programs, managing cross-functional teams and vendors, and reporting to senior leadership on status and threats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 7+ years in project management, with ≥3 years in IT security projects.
• In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threats, and technologies.
• Experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
• PMP or CISSP certification is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership, communication, and risk management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT security projects, including security audits, vulnerability assessments, and system implementations.
• Develop comprehensive project plans with scope, deliverables, timelines and resources for security initiatives.
• Manage relationships with internal IT teams, external security vendors, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR/POPIA and internal policies for security projects.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard data.
• Provide regular status updates and risk reports to senior management.
