Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager in Johannesburg to lead the delivery of strategic and operational technology initiatives. You will drive planning, governance and implementation of technology projects that support growth, transformation and improved customer and employee experiences.

The role requires 10+ years in large IT projects, vendor management and experience with ERP, CRM and HRIS initiatives, with certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
• Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, SAP Activate, Agile, Scrum Master or equivalent) preferred.
• 10+ years' experience managing medium to large-scale IT projects.
• Experience delivering enterprise and digitised transformation initiatives in the IT stack.
• Experience managing vendors, implementation partners and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic and operational IT projects.
• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, resources, risks and dependencies.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
• Drive technology-enabled transformation initiatives and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
• Oversee a programme portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Track, monitor and report on project and programme progress to ensure successful execution.
• Identify and manage project and programme interdependencies, risks, issues, decisions and change requests.
• Build strong relationships with business leaders, executive stakeholders and technology teams.
• Facilitate weekly project status meetings, governance forums, workshops and steering committee meetings.
• Provide regular project reporting, including progress, risks and outcomes.
• Manage third-party vendors and implementation partners to ensure successful delivery.
• Establish and maintain effective project governance and controls.
• Identify, manage and mitigate project risks and issues.
• Ensure compliance with project methodologies, policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support organisational change management, business readiness and user adoption activities.
• Monitor post-implementation outcomes and benefits realisation.
• Conform in PMO quality assurance to ensure project deliverables are being met.

Education
