Placements24 in Mbombela (Nelspruit) is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Technician to join its critical operations team. The role covers installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of sophisticated instrumentation and control equipment in a petrochemical environment.

You will ensure accuracy and reliability of instruments such as transmitters, sensors, flow meters, valves, and analysers. You will work closely with engineers and operators, perform diagnostics, read P&IDs, and follow

Qualifications

• Experience in installing, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing instrumentation and control equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain instrumentation including transmitters, sensors, switches, gauges and valves.
• Calibrate and tune instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Diagnose and repair instrumentation and control system malfunctions.
• Read P&IDs, electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Perform preventative maintenance on instrumentation systems.
• Support DCS and PLC-based instrumentation functions.
• Maintain records of maintenance, calibration and repair activities.
• Respond to urgent service calls related to instrumentation.
