Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Experienced Advanced Instrumentation and Control Technician for our client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. The role covers installation, calibration and maintenance of sophisticated instrumentation and control systems essential for safe, efficient operations.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in industrial plant I&C, strong knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic control principles, and familiarity with P&ID, PLC and DCS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation and control within an industrial plant.
• Trade qualification or certification in instrumentation and control technology.
• Ability to read P&ID, electrical drawings and control system documentation.
• Experience with calibration procedures and calibration equipment.
• Familiarity with PLC and DCS systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation such as transmitters, sensors, valves, and analyzers.
• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and control system faults to minimize downtime.
• Read P&ID, electrical schematics and control logic.
• Perform loop checks and diagnostics for accurate process control.
• Configure and program digital instruments and controllers.
• Work with DCS and PLCs as they relate to instrumentation.
• Maintain logs of calibrations, maintenance and repairs.
