Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to manage procurement for infrastructure projects in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role emphasizes strategic sourcing, contract management, and cost optimization across construction materials and services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in complex project procurement, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to deliver timely, quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in SCM/Engineering/Construction Management or related field.
• Master's degree advantageous for career progression.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Lead negotiations for major contracts, including pricing, terms, and conditions.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Analyze market trends, commodity prices, and supply chain dynamics to optimize sourcing.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, budget constraints, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to define procurement needs.
• Prepare procurement reports, including spend analysis and cost savings initiatives.
• Identify and onboard new suppliers, conducting due diligence and performance assessments.
• Oversee the tendering process and ensure fair and transparent procurement practices.
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems for project efficiency.
