• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Pr. Eng. preferred).
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, stormwater systems, and site services.
• Manage bulk earthworks, grading, and site preparation designs.
• Oversee the design of water supply and distribution networks, and wastewater collection systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and option analyses for infrastructure development.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, electrical, and mechanical engineers, as well as architects and surveyors.
• Liaise with municipal authorities, government agencies, and clients to obtain approvals and manage expectations.
• Supervise construction activities and provide technical support to site teams.
• Mentor and guide junior civil engineers and technicians.

About the Role

Our client, a distinguished engineering and project management firm with operations in the picturesque Paarl region of the Western Cape, is seeking a highly competent Senior Infrastructure Civil Engineer. This role is central to the planning, design, and oversight of diverse infrastructure development projects, including roads, bulk earthworks, water and sanitation services, and site development for both public and private sectors. You will be responsible for leading project teams, ensuring technical excellence, and managing client relationships to deliver high-quality, sustainable infrastructure. The ideal candidate possesses a broad understanding of civil infrastructure principles and a proven track record in project execution and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. A Master's degree or post-graduate diploma in a relevant field is advantageous.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design and project management.
• Proficiency in relevant design software, including Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and PDS.
• Strong understanding of South African municipal infrastructure standards and guidelines.
• Experience in conducting environmental screenings and managing permitting processes.Proven project management skills, including contract administration and quality control.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate project teams effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve complex engineering problems.
• Valid driver's license.
