Placements24 is seeking an Information Security Engineer to join the security team in Port Elizabeth. You will implement, manage and monitor security infrastructure to protect against cyber threats, working with IT operations and development teams to ensure security measures are deployed and maintained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a IT/CS-related field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in information security engineering or similar role.
• Experience with network security concepts and tools (e.g., TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
• Experience with SIEM systems and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Familiarity with penetration testing methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security solutions.
• Monitor logs for security events and anomalies and escalate issues as needed.
• Perform regular security assessments and vulnerability scans of the IT infrastructure.
• Assist in development and enforcement of security policies and procedures.
• Respond to security incidents and support remediation under guidance of senior staff.
