Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Information Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure enterprise solutions in Sandton. You will establish and maintain a scalable security architecture aligned with business goals and evolving cyber threats.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a distinguished and experienced Senior Information Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure enterprise solutions in Sandton . This role is pivotal in establishing and maintaining a strong, scalable, and resilient security architecture that aligns with business objectives and mitigates evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for defining security blueprints, setting standards, and guiding technical teams in adopting best practices for secure system design and deployment. This position offers a significant opportunity to influence security strategy and infrastructure within a leading organization in the financial hub of Gauteng .

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive security architectures for cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
• Define security standards, patterns, and guidelines for infrastructure, applications, and data protection.
• Evaluate and select new security technologies and solutions to address current and future risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and development, to integrate security into the SDLC.
• Conduct security architecture reviews and provide expert recommendations for hardening systems and applications.
• Develop and maintain threat models and security architecture documentation.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in information security , with a strong emphasis on security architecture and design.
• In-depth knowledge of security principles, cryptography, network security, application security, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with security frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and threat modeling methodologies.
• Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into secure and practical technical solutions.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
