About the Role

Our client, a leading industrial manufacturing entity located in Mahikeng, North West , is seeking to appoint a highly competent Senior Industrial Maintenance Engineer. This role is vital for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of all plant machinery and equipment. The successful candidate will lead the maintenance team, develop and implement preventative maintenance programs, manage spare parts inventory, and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues. This position requires extensive hands-on experience and strong leadership qualities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance programs for all industrial machinery and equipment. Lead, train, and mentor the maintenance team, assigning tasks and overseeing their performance. Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on production machinery. Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources and spare parts inventory. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards related to maintenance activities. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history. Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and process improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency. Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize equipment availability. Manage external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance tasks. Implement and champion reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial maintenance engineering, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or senior role. Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of industrial machinery and control systems. Strong knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography). Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations within an industrial environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with diverse teams. Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential.
