Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Industrial Engineer to oversee and optimize plant operations in Vereeniging. This hands-on, on-site role focuses on improving productivity, efficiency, and quality across manufacturing processes.

You will lead process analyses, layout optimization, and the rollout of automation and new technologies while mentoring junior engineers and managing projects to meet timelines and budgets.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 10 years progressive experience in industrial engineering within heavy manufacturing or complex production environments.
• Expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Black Belt desirable).
• Proven track record of leading significant operational improvement projects.
• Strong leadership, project management and change management skills.
• Proficiency in simulation software, ERP systems, and data analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis and redesign of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Develop and implement plans for plant layout optimization, material flow and capacity.
• Analyze performance of equipment and personnel to identify improvements.
• Oversee implementation of new technologies and automation in production.
• Develop and mentor junior engineers to foster continuous improvement.
• Manage projects from conception to implementation within budget and schedule.
