Placements24 is seeking a Lead Industrial Engineer for its Mossel Bay, Western Cape hub to optimize warehouse layouts, material flow, inventory management and overall efficiency. You will lead engineers, applying IE principles to deliver data-driven operational improvements and cost savings.

The role demands a strategic thinker with strong analytics and a track record of implementing improvements in logistics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in industrial engineering with emphasis on warehouse operations.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing improvement projects.
• Strong knowledge of lean principles and Six Sigma.
• Proficiency with WMS, Arena, Excel and SQL.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience with automation in warehousing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the industrial engineering team to optimize warehouse operations.
• Develop strategies to improve inventory accuracy and cycle times.
• Design workflows for receiving, put-away, picking, packing and shipping.
• Use simulation tools to evaluate changes and predict impact.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics and IT for seamless integration.
• Develop KPIs and report performance trends.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide professional development.
• Identify technologies and automation to boost productivity and reduce costs.
• Ensure safety regulations and standards are met.
• Manage engineering projects from conception to implementation.
