Formación

• Qualified Electrician with a valid trade test certificate.
• Minimum 7 years’ industrial electrician experience, 3+ years in a senior role.
• Strong understanding of power distribution, motor controls, PLC basics and VFDs.
• Experience with high‑voltage systems and safety procedures.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial Electrician to join their manufacturing and processing facility located in Randburg, Gauteng . This position is critical for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical systems and machinery within the plant. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in industrial electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation, with a strong understanding of high-voltage systems, control circuits, and automation. You will be responsible for leading complex electrical projects, diagnosing intricate faults, and performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex troubleshooting and repair of industrial electrical equipment, including motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems and associated equipment.
• Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent failures.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations.
• Assist in the commissioning of new machinery and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, electrical faults, and parts inventory.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electricians and maintenance personnel.
• Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Respond to urgent electrical breakdowns and ensure swift resolution to minimize production impact in Randburg .
• Work with automation systems and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).

Requirements

• Qualified Electrician with a valid trade test certificate ("e.g., NQF Level 3 or equivalent").
• A minimum of 7 years of proven experience as an Industrial Electrician, with at least 3 years in a senior capacity.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, PLC programming basics, and VFDs.
• Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from complex electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Experience with high-voltage systems and safety procedures is essential.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to electrical codes.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to work shifts and be on standby as required in the Randburg, Gauteng area.
