Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Control Systems Engineer for on-site work in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. The role focuses on designing, programming, and maintaining automated production and control systems to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe operations.
The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience with PLCs, SCADA/HMI, and industrial networking, and will collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams while providing hands-on support at the facility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in EE, Mechatronics or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years designing and implementing control systems.
- Proficient in PLC programming and SCADA/HMI software.
- Experience with industrial networking and motion control systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.
- Integrate sensors and actuators for automated processes.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot control system failures.
- Upgrade and migrate control systems with minimal production disruption.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Ensure safety standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams.
- Provide training and support to maintenance staff.
- Stay updated on new automation technologies.
- Assist in project planning, budgeting, and vendor selection.
