Placements24 in Mossel Bay, Western Cape seeks an experienced Industrial Automation Technician to maintain and optimize automated production systems. You will work with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and robotics to minimize downtime and improve efficiency in a fast-paced facility.

The role requires a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, 3+ years of hands-on automation experience, and strong fault-finding skills. Travel within the Western Cape and stand-by duties may be required.

Formación

• National Diploma required in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Hands-on automation experience and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs and robotics.

Responsabilidades

• Install, configure, and maintain PLC, HMI, SCADA, and robotics systems.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in automated machinery and control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Develop, test, and modify PLC programs and HMI interfaces under guidance.
• Integrate new automation equipment into existing lines.
• Monitor system performance and identify efficiency improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain documentation including backups and configurations.
• Collaborate with engineering/production on upgrades.
• Provide technical support and training to staff.
