Job summary
Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior In-House Counsel to join our growing technology team. This fully remote role offers flexibility and the chance to shape legal strategy across contracts, IP, governance and compliance in a fast-paced tech environment.
The successful candidate will lead commercial negotiations, oversee data privacy compliance (POPIA), advise on corporate governance, and collaborate with product and finance teams to support growth while managing external counsel and
Qualifications
- Admitted Attorney with minimum 8 years in-house or top law firm.
- Strong commercial contracting and negotiation experience.
- Experience with IP, data privacy, and tech sector matters.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate SaaS, vendor, and partnership agreements.
- Advise on IP matters and assist with IP strategy.
- Ensure POPIA compliance and data privacy governance.
- Provide governance guidance and board/shareholder support.
- Support financing rounds, M&A, and corporate transactions.
- Develop legal policies and manage external counsel.
- Conduct legal research on tech sector issues.
- Support product development with legal input.
- Advise senior management cross-functionally.
- Monitor and control legal spend.
