NamWater is seeking a Hydrogeologist to advance groundwater management in Upington. The role combines extensive field investigations, data modeling, and the development of long-term water sustainability plans for the Northern Cape region.

Candidates should have 5–7 years of professional hydrogeology experience, a Master’s in Hydrogeology or Earth Sciences, and strong skills in MODFLOW/FEFLOW modeling, groundwater monitoring, and regulatory reporting.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field required; PhD with field experience preferred.
• 5–7 years of professional hydrogeology experience with groundwater modeling and aquifer management in semi-arid environments.

Aufgaben

• Conduct groundwater investigations and aquifer testing in diverse geological settings.
• Develop and maintain numerical groundwater flow models to predict future water availability.
• Monitor groundwater quality and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Design and oversee installation of monitoring wells and sampling points.
• Collaborate with civil engineers to integrate hydrological data into water infrastructure projects.
