Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC to join the building services team in Randburg. You will lead design teams, manage complex HVAC projects from concept to commissioning, and ensure performance targets are met for commercial and industrial facilities.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and at least 8 years of HVAC design experience, with proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD and IES VE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of progressive HVAC design and engineering experience, preferably in consulting or large projects.
• Strong knowledge of psychrometrics, thermodynamics, and HVAC system design principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of HVAC systems, including load calculations, system selection, and schematic development.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities for HVAC installations.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time delivery within budget.
• Conduct site inspections and commissioning to verify performance against design intent.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers within the mechanical team.
