Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior HSE Engineer to lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives for operations in Benoni. You will develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, conduct risk assessments, and promote a robust safety culture across Gauteng.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7+ years of experience in HSE management, with NEBOSH or ISO 45001 lead auditor certification preferred. Attractive bonus and full benefits package offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
7+ years in HSE management, preferably in oil and gas.
NEBOSH or ISO 45001 lead auditor certifications are highly desirable.
Experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, and HSEMS.
Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive HSE management systems.
Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and corrective actions.
Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees and contractors.
Ensure compliance with national and international HSE legislation and industry standards.
Promote a strong safety culture through engagement, communication, and leadership.
