Job summary

JMR Software PTY LTD in South Africa is seeking a Senior Google Cloud Engineer to guide customers in building strong cloud foundations on GCP and modernising applications. You will work with cloud, data, software engineering and client teams to design scalable, secure, and operational environments, applying Terraform IaC, Kubernetes, and cloud governance.

Qualifications

5+ years of cloud or platform engineering experience.
Hands-on with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience in enterprise environments and customer-facing roles.
Strong IaC and automation expertise.
Knowledge of networking, IAM, security, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and support secure and scalable Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
Establish cloud foundations, landing zones, and governance standards.
Guide customers and internal teams on cloud-native development and application modernisation.
Advise engineering teams on architecture, automation, scalability, security, reliability, and operational excellence.
Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
Support Kubernetes and container-based platforms and deployments.
Collaborate closely with Cloud, Data, and Code teams across customer engagements.
Assist with architecture reviews, technical solutioning, and implementation guidance.
Contribute to CI/CD automation, observability, monitoring, and platform engineering practices.
Mentor engineers and contribute to capability development within the organisation.
