Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer for the Mossel Bay, Western Cape office. The role combines office work with remote flexibility in a hybrid setup.

Lead site investigations, analyze soil/rock data, and advise on foundation design for major projects along the coastal region. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (Geotech) with 7+ years of experience, professional registration or eligibility, and proficiency in Plaxis, GeoStudio, and SLOPE/W.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical specialization; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years geotechnical experience; Oil & Gas or major infra exposure is a plus.
• Experience with site investigations planning, execution and data interpretation.
• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software (Plaxis, GeoStudio, SLOPE/W).
• Strong knowledge of soil/rock mechanics and foundation engineering.
• Experience with numerical modeling for complex geotechnical problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and reporting.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or eligible.
• Experience in Western Cape is advantageous.

Mansioni

• Plan and manage site investigations (drilling, CPT, lab testing).
• Analyze soil and rock data to determine engineering properties.
• Perform foundation design for platforms, pipelines, and facilities.
• Develop ground improvement strategies where needed.
• Prepare geotechnical reports with interpretations, recommendations and drawings.
• Provide expert geotechnical advice to clients and design teams.
• Conduct geotechnical risk assessments.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay updated with software.
