Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a distinguished engineering consultancy in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will lead geotechnical investigations, assess ground conditions, and develop designs for foundations, slopes, and earth-retaining structures while mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate with civil, structural engineers, and architects on infrastructure projects across Gauteng, ensuring compliance with SANS and industry best practices and traveling to

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is required.
• 8+ years of relevant geotechnical experience, preferably in consulting.
• Extensive site investigation planning, execution and data analysis.
• Proficient geotechnical software: GeoStudio, Plaxis, Slide.
• Strong report writing, presentation and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead geotechnical investigations including site reconnaissance, drilling, sampling.
• Analyse soil/rock data to evaluate stability, settlement, bearing capacity.
• Prepare geotechnical investigation reports with design recommendations.
• Design foundation systems, retaining structures, slope stabilization.
• Provide input for infrastructure design projects with other engineers.
• Supervise site construction and ensure QA against designs.
• Ensure compliance with SANS standards and industry best practices.
• Review and approve colleagues' geotechnical designs.
• Mentor junior geotechnical engineers and technicians.
• Stay updated on advancements in geotechnical engineering.
