Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a specialized Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in North West province, based in Rustenburg. You will analyze soil and rock mechanics, conduct site investigations, and develop geotechnical reports with foundation recommendations.

The role requires a BSc/BEng in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, at least 6 years of relevant experience, proficiency with Plaxis or GeoStudio, and familiarity with ECSA standards.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required.
• Minimum 6 years of geotechnical investigations and design experience.
• In-depth knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation design.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software such as Plaxis, GeoStudio or similar.
• Familiarity with ECSA requirements for geotechnical engineers.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute site investigations, including drilling, testing, and sampling.
• Analyze soil and rock properties to determine foundation designs and slope stability.
• Develop geotechnical reports, including recommendations for foundation types and earthworks.
• Provide technical guidance on ground improvement techniques and foundation design.
• Liaise with clients and project teams to address geotechnical concerns.
• Ensure compliance with geotechnical engineering standards and safety protocols.
