Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geoscientist to lead subsurface interpretation for oil and gas projects near Mossel Bay. You will analyze seismic, well data, gravity and magnetic information to build robust subsurface models and guide exploration decisions.
You will work with geologists, reservoir engineers and other specialists, applying advanced techniques and state-of-the-art software while enjoying the flexibility of remote work arrangements.
Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Geology, or a related geoscience field.
- Minimum 8 years of oil and gas exploration and development experience.
- Proficiency in Petrel, Geolog, Landmark and related interpretation software.
Responsibilities
- Integrate seismic, well log, gravity and magnetic data to interpret subsurface geology.
- Develop detailed subsurface models including structural/stratigraphic interpretations.
- Perform quantitative seismic interpretation and attribute analysis to identify reservoirs.
- Collaborate with reservoir engineers to define properties and estimate reserves.
- Contribute to exploration and development strategy based on subsurface insights.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and prospect evaluations for management.
