Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Geophysics or related field.
• 7+ years in mineral or hydrocarbon exploration, with geophysics focus.
• Experience processing and interpreting seismic, magnetic, gravity, and EM data.
• Proficient in Petrel, Hampson-Russell, and Oasis Montaj.
• Strong geological knowledge and data integration skills.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the natural resources sector located in Polokwane , is seeking an experienced Senior Geoscientist with a strong background in exploration and geophysics. This role is crucial for identifying and evaluating potential resource deposits, applying advanced geophysical techniques and geological knowledge. You will be responsible for planning and executing geophysical surveys, interpreting complex subsurface data, and contributing to resource exploration strategies. This is an on-site position within our client's operational base in Polokwane , offering a dynamic and challenging work environment. You will collaborate with a team of geologists, engineers, and other specialists to drive successful exploration programs.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical software packages (e.g., Petrel, Hampson-Russell, Geosoft Oasis Montaj).
• Strong understanding of geological principles and their application to exploration.
• Experience with data integration and 3D geological modeling.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Willingness to travel to remote field locations as required.
