Placements24 is seeking a Senior Gameplay Programmer to join a fully remote development team. You will design, implement, and optimize core gameplay systems using C++ and partner with designers, artists, and engineers to deliver engaging experiences.

The role emphasizes solving complex technical challenges, writing clean code, and contributing to architectural decisions across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in game programming focused on gameplay.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Experience with version control systems (Git, Perforce).
• Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and iterate on core gameplay mechanics and systems using C++.
• Optimize game performance, memory usage, and loading times for various target platforms.
• Collaborate with game designers to translate design specifications into functional gameplay features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, participating actively in code reviews.
• Debug and resolve complex gameplay-related issues and bugs across the development cycle.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions for new gameplay features.
