Job summary

Placements24 in Durban is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join its growing e-commerce team. You will design, develop, and maintain customer-facing platform and backend services. This position requires a blend of front-end and back-end expertise with a focus on scalable, high-performance web applications.

You will collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and other engineers to deliver exceptional user experiences and robust functionalities in a vibrant coastal city.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of full stack development experience with a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in front-end HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (React/Angular/Vue).
• Strong server-side experience with Node.js, Python/Django, Java/Spring, or Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive UIs using modern frameworks (React/Angular/Vue).
• Build and manage backend services and APIs with Node.js, Django, or Rails.
• Optimize performance, database efficiency, and scalability for high-traffic e-commerce environments.
• Implement and maintain automated testing strategies (unit/integration/e2e).
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical specs.
• Troubleshoot and debug across the full stack to ensure platform stability.
