Placements24 is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer for our fintech client in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. You will design, build, and maintain scalable web applications using Node.js and React, with emphasis on API design, database integration, and UI implementation.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in full-stack development, strong JS/HTML/CSS, and experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL. Hybrid work combines remote collaboration with in-office sessions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional full-stack web development experience.
• Proven Node.js expertise with Express.js.
• Strong JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 skills.
• In-depth React.js experience with Redux and Hooks.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Git and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and associated frameworks (e.g., Express.js).
• Build responsive and interactive user interfaces using React.js and modern frontend development practices.
• Develop and manage RESTful APIs for seamless data communication between frontend and backend systems.
• Implement and optimize database solutions, primarily using PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and testable code across the full stack.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to define feature requirements and user experience.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection.
• Ensure the security, performance, and scalability of the application.
