Placements24 seeks a Senior Formulation Scientist for its pharmaceutical division in Welkom. The role focuses on design, development, and optimization of stable drug formulations to translate pre-formulation concepts into viable commercial products.

You will collaborate with process development, analytical development, and regulatory teams, design experiments for formulation development, and contribute to regulatory submissions and technical transfer packages.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Deep knowledge of formulation principles and drug delivery systems.
• Experience with solid oral dosage forms is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of new oral solid dosage forms (tablets, capsules) and potentially other dosage forms.
• Design and execute experiments for formulation development, including pre-formulation studies, excipient compatibility, and stability testing.
• Investigate and resolve formulation-related challenges to ensure product performance, manufacturability, and shelf-life.
• Utilize advanced analytical techniques to characterize drug substances and finished products.
• Collaborate closely with process development, analytical development, and regulatory affairs teams.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation for development reports, technical transfer packages, and regulatory submissions.
