Placements24 is recruiting for a client in the FMCG sector to hire a Supply Chain Manager in Gauteng (Tembisa). The role oversees procurement, inventory, warehousing, and distribution, driving efficiency, cost control, and timely delivery.

The candidate will optimize the end-to-end supply chain, implement lean principles, manage KPIs, and lead a high-performing team while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field.
• 6–8 years of progressive experience in supply chain and logistics management.
• Experience in large-scale warehousing and distribution.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain software (WMS, TMS, ERP).
• Proven leadership and team development skills.
• Knowledge of South African logistics regulations.
• Experience in the Tembisa, Gauteng area is advantageous.
• Commitment to operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement efficient supply chain strategies to support business objectives and customer needs.
• Oversee all aspects of logistics, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and demand forecasting.
• Manage and optimize inventory levels to minimize holding costs while ensuring product availability.
• Negotiate with suppliers and logistics providers to secure favorable terms and service levels.
• Implement and monitor KPIs to track supply chain efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
• Lead and mentor the supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles and best practices.
