About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Fleet Manager to oversee their extensive transportation operations in Johannesburg . This pivotal role involves managing a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with all relevant regulations. You will lead a dedicated team of logistics coordinators and drivers, driving strategic initiatives to optimize fleet performance and support the company's growing logistical needs. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and disposal of all company vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety standards and legal requirements.
• Manage a team of drivers and logistics personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
• Utilize fleet management software and data analytics to monitor vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and driver behavior, identifying areas for improvement.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers, maintenance providers, and insurance companies to secure favorable terms.
• Ensure adherence to all traffic laws, transportation regulations, and company safety policies across the fleet.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in fleet management or a similar logistics leadership role.
• Demonstrated expertise in vehicle maintenance, route optimization, and regulatory compliance within the transportation industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Proficiency in using fleet management software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities, with a strong understanding of financial management related to fleet operations.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is highly preferred.
