Placements24 is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for a fully remote role based in South Africa. You will design, implement, and optimize scalable backend services for a fintech platform serving a global client base.

The role emphasizes distributed systems, microservices, secure databases, RESTful APIs, and collaboration with an international team. The remote-first culture offers flexibility and opportunities for growth.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Experience with at least one modern backend language (Java, Python, Go, Node.js).
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, asynchronous processing, and messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Knowledge of financial systems or fintech experience is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain backend code for scalable fintech platform.
• Develop and manage microservices architecture for core platform features.
• Ensure secure, scalable database solutions (SQL/NoSQL).
• Integrate with third-party APIs and financial services.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and QA teams; participate in code reviews.
• Address performance bottlenecks and bugs; contribute to architectural decisions.
• Uphold security best practices and regulatory compliance in fintech.
