Placements24 is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to lead the finance function in Klerksdorp, North West. The role oversees accounting, FP&A, treasury and risk management with a strategic, value‑driving approach.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of financial leadership in mining or heavy industry, with CA(SA) or equivalent and strong IFRS knowledge. A hybrid work model and competitive package are on offer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CA(SA), CIMA or equivalent professional qualification is essential.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive financial management experience, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, SA tax laws and corporate finance principles.
• Proven FP&A, budgeting and forecasting experience.
• ERP proficiency (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking and decision‑making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels.
• Experience in managing financial risks and internal controls.
• Ability to balance remote work with office presence in Klerksdorp.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and treasury.
• Develop and implement strategic financial plans, budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for senior management.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
• Ensure IFRS compliance, tax regulations and legal requirements.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team; liaise with external auditors.
• Provide financial guidance to operational departments.
