Job summary

Dante Personnel is seeking a senior financial leader to take overall responsibility for the company’s finance function in a fast-growing SME environment. The role focuses on end-to-end financial management, from reporting and budgeting to controls and cash flow optimization.

The ideal candidate will bring 5–7 years of progressive finance experience, strong accounting know-how, and a hands-on approach to scaling finance processes.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or Finance degree required.
• 5–7 years progressive finance experience.
• Experience managing the full finance function within an SME or growing business.
• Strong end-to-end accounting knowledge including management accounts, month-end, reconciliations, budgeting & forecasting, cash flow and controls.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with Xero or equivalent cloud accounting.

Job description

Minimum requirements:

• Take overall responsibility for the company's finance function
• Manage accounting processes, reconciliations and month-end close
• Prepare and analyse monthly management and financial reports
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, debtors and creditors
• Ensure strong financial controls and accurate accounting records
• Manage VAT, SARS and statutory financial compliance
• Coordinate annual financial statements and external audits
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors and financial service providers
• Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management and the Board
• Support funding applications, investor reporting, grants and financial due diligence
• Identify financial risks and implement appropriate controls
• Develop and improve finance systems, processes and reporting structures
• Provide commercial insight into revenue, margins, costs, cash flow and business performance
• Support the business as it scales and develops its finance function

• Minimum Requirements

  • BCom Accounting, BCom Financial Accounting,
  • BCom Finance or equivalent qualification.
  • 5–7 years' progressive finance experience.
  • Strong experience managing the full finance function within an SME, entrepreneurial or growing business.
  • Strong end-to-end accounting knowledge.
  • Experience with:

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Xero or a comparable cloud-based accounting system.
