The Recruiters are seeking a competent, hands-on Senior/Financial Accountant to join our luxury travel client’s Finance team in Cape Town. You will drive month-end processes, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain strong financial controls within a dynamic, office-based role.

Requirements include a BCom Accounting degree and at least 5 years’ experience, IFRS/VAT knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience with Debtors, Creditors, forex, month-end and audits. Tourplan exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must hold a BCom Accounting degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience as a Senior/Financial Accountant or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT, financial controls and relevant legislation.
• Hands-on experience across Debtors, Creditors, forex, reconciliations, month-end and audits.
• Advanced MS Excel skills are essential.
• Exposure to Tourplan is advantageous.
• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Pastel, Sage or Syspro is preferred.
• Exposure to the travel/tourism sector is preferable.
• Proactive, organised and accountable with the ability to drive solutions.

Responsabilités

• Drive month-end accounting, reporting and internal review processes.
• Prepare and review age analyses, reconciliations, journals and variance reports.
• Oversee Debtors and Creditors processes and escalations.
• Manage bank and foreign exchange reconciliations, including month-end revaluations.
• Review invoicing, margins, VAT and supplier payments.
• Assist with VAT reconciliations, statutory submissions, and audits.
• Compile reporting and supporting documentation for Head Office and audits.
• Identify system and process issues and recommend improvements.
• Support the Head of Finance and wider Finance team with projects and ad hoc requirements.

Salary: Market-related, commensurate with experience
Position: Full-time, office-based

A leading luxury travel business is looking for a competent, hands-on and dynamic individual to join their Finance team.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the effective daily accounting processes and ensure complete, accurate and timely financial reporting, while maintaining strong financial controls and adherence to legislative compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Drive month-end accounting, reporting and internal review processes
• Prepare and review age analyses, reconciliations, journals and variance reports
