Snatch | Accounting & Finance Headhunters is looking for a Revenue Accountant to join a leading high-end travel and safari company in Cape Town. The successful candidate will manage the reconciliation and reporting of all revenue streams, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

This role offers an annual compensation between R540 000 and R660 000, depending on qualifications and experience. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 3 years in a similar role are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within the tourism or hospitality industry.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and double-entry accounting.

Introduction

A leading high - end travel and safari company is looking for a Revenue Accountant to join their growing team in CBD, Cape Town.

The Revenue Accountant would play a critical part in supporting strategic financial decision-making and operational efficiency across the company’s tourism portfolio. They would be responsible for the accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of all revenue streams across the organisation, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards, financial regulations, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly revenue across accommodation, transfers, and ancillary services.
• Process and review revenue journals, accruals, and accounting adjustments.
• Reconcile revenue data between operating systems, PMS/reservations platforms, and the general ledger.
• Prepare daily revenue flash reports and monthly revenue summaries for management.
• Manage invoicing, collections, debtor ageing, and payment allocations for travel agents and corporate clients.
• Maintain and improve revenue processes, internal controls, and system integrations between operational and financial platforms.
• Support financial system implementations, reporting tools, and data integrity checks.
• Ensure compliance with VAT/tax regulations, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors and provide supporting financial documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within the tourism, hospitality, or travel industry.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and double-entry accounting.
• Experience using Nitro/Semper/Sage Intacct is advantageous.
• Exposure to tourism-specific revenue streams reconciliations is beneficial.
• R540 000 per annum - R660 000 per annum CTC (dependent on qualification and experience)
