Placements24 is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for a remote-first role responsible for the accuracy and timely reporting of financial information. You will lead IFRS-based statements, consolidate accounts, and support strategic decision-making while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a virtual environment.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of accounting experience, CA(SA)/ACCA/CPA is preferred, and a strong command of SAP/Oracle/QuickBooks with advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CA(SA)/ACCA/CPA certification preferred.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Proficient in SAP/Oracle/QuickBooks and advanced Excel.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and South African regulations.
• Excellent communication and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed explanations for significant deviations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights and support.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
• Develop and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
