Job summary

ZealHR is seeking a mid–senior Financial Accountant to own the full accounting function across South Africa and Namibia. The role covers day-to-day accounting, ledgers, month-end close and reporting, across multiple entities with cross-border transactions.

The successful candidate will manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, tax submissions (SARS VAT, PAYE, corporate tax) for SA and Namibia, supervise junior staff, and support audits and financial statements.

Qualifications

• Mid-to-senior level financial accounting experience.
• Experience managing full-function accounting across multiple entities and cross-border operations.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close and statutory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day accounting for South African and Namibian entities.
• Maintain general ledgers and perform month-end close.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, income statements, balance sheets and cash flow.
• Post journals and ensure accuracy of accounting records.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing.
• Coordinate SARS VAT, PAYE and corporate tax returns; Namibian tax requirements.
• Supervise and mentor junior finance staff.
• Assist external audits and annual financial statements.
