Placements24 leads a field service role in Rustenburg, seeking a dedicated technician to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy machinery and mining equipment on-site.

You will interpret manuals and schematics, troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems, and maintain service logs. Travel to sites within the North West region is required, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Field Service Technician specializing in heavy machinery or industrial equipment.
• Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and understand complex technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to obtain necessary endorsements if required.
• Trade certification in Heavy Equipment Mechanics or a related field is highly advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift heavy components, work in various weather conditions, and perform strenuous tasks.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel to various job sites within the North West province as needed.

Responsabilités

• Perform diagnostic evaluations and repairs on heavy machinery, including excavators, loaders, dozers, and specialized mining equipment.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins to guide repair procedures.
• Perform on-site service calls and respond to emergency repair needs efficiently.
• Maintain accurate service logs, including details of work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Ensure all safety regulations and company procedures are strictly followed during service operations.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding equipment status, repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
• Manage and maintain a service vehicle, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Provide technical support and guidance to equipment operators when necessary.
