MORE Collection is seeking a Principal Trainer for the MORE Field Guide College. The role leads a small but dynamic leadership team to oversee training operations, curricula, and student outcomes in FGASA-aligned programs.

The ideal candidate has extensive field guiding experience in South Africa, with strong training credentials, mentoring ability, and a commitment to wildlife conservation and education. The position requires hands-on leadership in curriculum delivery and quality assurance.

Qualificações

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in field guiding, with at least 2 years in a senior training or mentoring role.
• In-depth understanding of South African wildlife, conservation practices, and eco-tourism operations.
• Proficient knowledge of FGASA standards, protocols, and curriculum requirements.
• A passion for wildlife conservation and education.
• Adaptability to diverse field conditions.
• A strong commitment to developing the next generation of professional Field Guides.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the training team to deliver immersive courses that prepare students for professional careers as Field Guides.
• Design and continuously improve training modules to meet FGASA standards and industry demands.
• Ensure students gain skills in nature guiding, advanced rifle handling, trails, wildlife tracking, hospitality, and conservation.
• Deliver theoretical and practical training sessions, providing mentorship to students and junior trainers.
• Promote continuous professional development within the training team.
• Monitor the quality of all training programmes, ensuring alignment with FGASA guidelines.
• Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of training methods and outcomes.
• Engage with students throughout their learning journey, providing guidance and support for sponsored learners.
• Assist the Camp Manager in maintaining training schedules, student records and reports.
• Manage resource allocation to ensure effective curriculum delivery.
• Engage with external training providers and plan for external courses and assessments.
• Liaise with FGASA, governing bodies, game reserves, and conservation organizations to stay updated.
• Develop and maintain relationships for student placements and industry exposure.
• Ensure safety protocols and risk-management procedures are followed during training activities.
• Conduct 5-day mentored Trails programmes.
