Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' field guiding experience with 2+ years in senior training/mentoring.
• Deep knowledge of SA wildlife, conservation, and eco-tourism operations.
• Proficient with FGASA standards, protocols and curriculum requirements.
• Passion for wildlife conservation and education.
• Adaptable to diverse field conditions and environments.
• Commitment to developing the next generation of professional Field Guides.

Responsibilities

• Lead the training team to deliver immersive courses for field guides.
• Design and improve training modules to FGASA standards.
• Deliver theory and practical training, mentoring staff and students.
• Monitor training quality and evaluate outcomes for continuous improvement.
• Support students, including those from sponsored backgrounds.
• Assist with training schedules, records and reports, and resource allocation.
• Engage with FGASA and industry stakeholders for partnerships.
