Placements24 is recruiting a seasoned Farm Operations Manager to oversee our client’s state-of-the-art farming activities near Pretoria, Gauteng. The role requires hands-on leadership of day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity and sustainability across crop production, irrigation, and mechanisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Farm Management or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in large-scale farm operations.
• Proven experience in leading farm workers and supervisors.
• Strong knowledge of crop production cycles, soils, irrigation, and pest control.
• Familiar with modern agricultural technology and equipment.
• Ability to work in field and office, Pretoria-based.

Responsabilités

• Direct and manage daily farm operations including planting, cultivation, harvesting, and post-harvest handling.
• Develop and implement operational plans and budgets to achieve targets and profitability.
• Oversee the management of farm labor including recruitment, training, scheduling and evaluation.
• Ensure efficient use of resources including water, fertilizers, pesticides, and machinery.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures on the farm.
• Manage maintenance and operation of farm equipment and infrastructure.
• Monitor crop health and development with appropriate interventions.
• liaise with suppliers, contractors, and service providers for timely delivery.
• Maintain records of farm activities, production data and financial transactions.
• Contribute to strategic planning for farm expansion and diversification.
