Our client, a respected property management company, is seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Manager with strong retail property management experience to oversee all technical and facilities operations for a major retail site. This role requires an expert in facilities management, building maintenance, and retail centre operations, with the ability to improve standards, optimise asset performance, and build strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Purpose of the Role
  • Ensure effective planning, management, and monitoring of all facilities and technical operations
  • Maintain and improve quality standards across the retail site
  • Manage tenant relationships and ensure customer expectations are exceeded
  • Support strategic property operations within the retail environment
Key Responsibilities
General Management
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for technical and facilities operations
  • Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance functions
  • Manage all operational activities, including staffing, budgeting, and financial controls
  • Ensure compliance with property legislation, health and safety standards, and company governance
Administration & Portfolio Management
  • Manage all facilities administration, reporting, and communication
  • Oversee helpdesk efficiency and issue resolution
  • Maintain and manage building asset systems and property software
  • Oversee contractor performance, procurement, audits, and compliance documentation
  • Manage handovers for new developments and upgrades
  • Maintain electrical compliance documentation
Financial Management
  • Prepare and manage R&M and planned maintenance budgets
  • Control expenditure, tenders, quotes, and procurement processes
  • Ensure accurate cost allocation, financial reporting, and budget reconciliation
Utilities & Energy Management
  • Manage energy and utility services, consumption monitoring, and audits
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives and green building improvements
  • Manage utility efficiency across retail operations
Risk Management
  • Conduct annual building inspections including compliance, structural integrity, and OHS
  • Maintain statutory registers, ensure legal compliance, and manage incident reporting
  • Ensure safe operations for tenants, service providers, and the public
Technical Support & Service
  • Provide expert technical support for tenants and stakeholders
  • Participate in new developments, tenant installations, upgrades, and inspections
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and service providers
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery within the retail property environment
Building Maintenance
  • Maintain mechanical, electrical, structural, and security systems
  • Oversee HT/LT electrical reticulation and equipment
  • Conduct annual building condition audits
  • Perform property due diligence surveys when required

  • Strong experience in retail property is essential
  • Experience in technical facilities management and retail building operations
