The candidate should have a 3-year degree in a relevant field, 8+ years facilities experience, and strong project management, budgeting and OHSA knowledge. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 3-year Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Property Management, Construction Science or Architecture (NQF Level 6).
• Certificate in Project Management is desirable.
• A valid Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage the infrastructure and facilities of the Sandringham campus, including security, cleaning and gardening and the Client's Laboratories and offices nationally.
• Provide construction project management nationally to deliver effective finished products.
• Maintain and repair buildings and equipment including communications, conference, accommodation and workshop facilities.
• Plan for and oversee major renovations and new construction, including tender specs and bid process.
• Adhere to and improve health and safety standards.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for facilities.
• Manage new laboratory installations ensuring high building standards per OHSA and accreditation.
• Ensure lighting, heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems operate properly.
• Manage major and minor building projects including budgets and early warnings of overruns.
• Provide effective business support and ensure compliance with building regulations.
• Manage the client’s vehicle fleet, staff moves, relocations and student accommodation.
