Job summary

Fempower in Sandringham, Gauteng, seeks an experienced Facilities & Infrastructure Manager to lead and optimize facilities, infrastructure and property operations. The role combines technical, project, procurement and budgeting responsibilities across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in facilities management, strong leadership, and hands-on experience with construction projects, OHSA compliance and budgeting. This senior position requires coordination with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3-year Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Property Management, Construction Science, Architecture or related field at NQF Level 6.
• Project Management qualification/certificate will be advantageous.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in Facilities Management.
• At least 2 years' experience in infrastructure-related functions.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven experience managing a facilities team in a large/complex service organisation.
• Experience in procurement processes and financial/budget management.
• Strong understanding of building and construction environment.
• Knowledge of OHSA and relevant legislation.
• Knowledge of building services and equipment including generators, UPS, workshop machinery.
• Strong technical, analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Good negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage facilities and infrastructure operations including security, cleaning, gardening and building services.
• Oversee facilities across multiple sites nationally.
• Manage construction, renovation and infrastructure projects from planning to completion.
• Prepare tender specifications and participate in procurement and bid processes.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts and expenditure within approved budgets.
• Identify budget overruns and project risks early.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and facilities.
• Develop and ensure facilities labs meet required standards and accreditation.
• Ensure building systems (AC, heating, ventilation, lighting) are maintained and operational.
• Maintain building and facilities compliance with OHSA and legislation.
• Develop, implement and maintain SOPs.
• Provide effective business support on facilities and infrastructure matters.
• Manage facilities-related contractors and service providers.
• Oversee vehicle fleet management, relocations and accommodation facilities.
• Lead, manage and develop the facilities team.
