Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Event Chef for exciting catering and events in George, Western Cape. You will design menus, source ingredients, and lead a talented kitchen team to deliver exceptional experiences for intimate gatherings to major banquets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in culinary roles, 2+ in senior/sous chef positions.
• Expertise in menu creation, recipe development, advanced cooking.
• Proven ability to manage kitchen operations, staff, and inventory.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP preferred).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
• Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute diverse menus for events.
• Lead kitchen brigade and ensure service quality.
• Oversee food prep, purchasing, production, and plating.
• Enforce strict HACCP and hygiene standards.
