Placements24 is seeking a Senior Event Catering Supervisor to lead on-site catering operations in Centurion, Gauteng. You will supervise staff, coordinate logistics, and ensure top-tier food quality and service delivery for diverse events.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong organizational skills, and a customer-focused approach to exceed client expectations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of supervisory catering/hospitality experience.
• Proven ability to manage and lead a team.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Based in Centurion or willing to commute.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all aspects of event catering, from setup to breakdown.
• Manage and mentor a team of catering staff, ensuring adherence to service standards and protocols.
• Liaise directly with clients to confirm event details, special requests, and logistical requirements.
• Oversee food and beverage service, ensuring quality, presentation, and timely delivery.
• Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event debriefings with the catering team.
• Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards throughout all events.
• Manage inventory of catering supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages or damages.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new catering service strategies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any on-site issues that may arise during events.
• Contribute to the training and development of junior catering staff.
