Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Mechanical Development Engineer for EV applications. You will design, simulate, and validate mechanical systems such as battery enclosures, thermal management, and chassis components, using CATIA/SolidWorks/NX in a global remote team.

The role requires 6+ years in mechanical design for automotive or EV components, strong CAD and FEA/CFD experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines from anywhere in the world.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Experience in EV components and automotive design is highly preferred.
• Strong proficiency with 3D CAD and simulation-driven validation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and sub-systems for EVs (battery enclosures, thermal management, driveline, structural parts).
• Create 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD tools.
• Perform and interpret FEA/CFD simulations to guide design decisions.
• Specify and source mechanical components with supply chain and manufacturing teams.
• Develop and execute testing plans for prototypes and production parts, documenting findings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fully remote setting.
