Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Senior Estimator to join our construction team in Soweto, Gauteng. You will prepare detailed cost estimates, analyze blueprints, quantify materials and labour, and solicit subcontractor bids to ensure profitable, competitive proposals.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 6 years’ estimating experience and a proven track record of accurate bids for diverse projects. Knowledge of PlanSwift and CostX is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in construction estimating.
• Proven track record of accurate and competitive bids.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and costs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects of varying complexity.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals and documentation to prepare bid estimates.
• Quantify materials, labor and equipment requirements.
• Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
• Perform risk analysis and identify potential cost overruns.
• Prepare and present bid proposals and cost reports to management.
